  5. DCE gets exclusive rights to publish Voodoo CGX drivers

  9. Today, Vision Factory Development (VFD) and DCE Computer Service
  10. signed an exclusive contract about the use of current "CGX
  11. Voodoo"-Drivers. In contrast to earlier announcements , this driver
  12. will be exclusively available for the G-REX PCI expansion only. This
  13. contract guarantees the immediate availability and the best support a
  14. user can get for the current range of powerful voodoo graphics boards
  15. in conjunction with all currently available ppc accelerators of the
  16. Blizzard- and CyberStorm series. With the expected problems of PPC 3D
  17. drivers in conjunction with Mediator PCI and the currently available
  18. PPC accelerators in Dual-CPU mode (68K 2D driver) in mind, VFD
  19. decided to drop the further development of the actual Alpha Voodoo
  20. drivers for Mediator and concentrates on development for the G-REX
  21. PCI board because drivers were succesfully tested already. Voodoo3
  22. cards should give you a significant performance boost for the current
  23. range of PPC accelerated games, flawless working of the CyberGraphX
  24. driver can't be guaranteed due to technical hardware limitations of
  25. Mediator PCI though, so VFD decided to go that way.

  27. As a final note,
  28. CGX Voodoo driver alpha versions that are probably develivered with
  29. the Mediator hardware are in no way authorized or licensed by VFD.
  30. Current S3 ViRGE drivers are not affected by this agreement. DCE and
  31. VFD also decided to work together on additional drivers regarding
  32. both networking and sound in conjunction with G-REX PCI.
